Description

Nine tones build an F dominant seventh that spans nearly the entire keyboard — F1 to A7, from the deepest bass to the highest treble. F appears five times across six octaves, the root saturating the chord; C and E♭ add the fifth and minor seventh; A brings the major third. Red-violet dominates the low registers, darkening toward black in the sub-bass. Yellow-orange and yellow emerge in the middle, and the upper A tones climb toward silver — nearly white at A7.
A descending waltz, Lent, mp, legato. The phrase opens at A7 — bright, almost weightless — and falls through seven octaves to F1, the deepest tone on the page. Nine notes make this the densest chord in the Hors-Série collection, and the descent gives each one room to speak before the next arrives.
A one-off dominant seventh study from the Synesthetic Explorations. Where the G7 studies nearby keep to six tones, this F7 sprawls across nine — a full-keyboard meditation on the dominant's restless pull, painted in violet that slowly bleeds toward light.
