This work explores the intersection of figuration and abstraction through bold geometric forms and expressive color relationships. Part of the Short Stories collection, the painting presents fragmented human-like figures rendered in a contemporary style that balances representational elements with modernist simplification. The composition investigates how traditional portraiture can be reimagined through geometric reduction and symbolic representation.

Deep black areas dominate the composition, creating strong structural foundations that anchor the warmer elements. Rich red-orange tones appear throughout substantial portions of the surface, building layers of burnt sienna and russet that suggest flesh and shadow. Orange passages provide transitional areas between the darker masses, while subtle gray accents add atmospheric depth. Small areas of yellow-orange create luminous highlights, with minimal blue-violet touches serving as cool counterpoints to the predominantly warm palette.
