Provenance

Description

One of the 72 Facets of Paris, a series born of a piano waltz of the same name: the artist gave each of its seventy-two measures the harmony of a Parisian place at a given hour, then painted each harmony into colour and form through his ideamorphic method. The waltz is in full three-time now, the city awakening. From the chord G♭7 it draws the spirit of the shops of rue Saint-Antoine at twenty past six: green and yellow, grey and a teal square, lavender — shutters beginning to rise. It holds the square (column 3, row 4) of the mosaic, which fully assembled forms an abstract portrait of Paris.
