Rue de Médicis, face au Luxembourg - Paris 6, 12h40

One of the 72 Facets of Paris, a series born of a piano waltz of the same name: the artist gave each of its seventy-two measures the harmony of a Parisian place at a given hour, then painted each harmony into colour and form through his ideamorphic method. Here the waltz reaches its midday height, at its warmest and most luminous. From the chord GMaj7 it draws the spirit of the rue de Médicis facing the Luxembourg at twenty to one: a golden arc and black, olive and coral on grey — lunch beside the garden. It holds the square (column 5, row 7) of the mosaic, which fully assembled forms an abstract portrait of Paris.
