Description
One of the 72 Facets of Paris, a series born of a piano waltz of the same name: the artist gave each of its seventy-two measures the harmony of a Parisian place at a given hour, then painted each harmony into colour and form through his ideamorphic method. Here the waltz reaches its midday height, at its warmest and most luminous. From the chord FMaj7 it draws the spirit of the boulevard Saint-Germain in the ministerial 7th, near the Assemblée, at one: blue returning beside ochre and olive, red and grey — the official quarter at midday. It holds the square (column 5, row 8) of the mosaic, which fully assembled forms an abstract portrait of Paris.
