Avenue Georges-Mandel - Paris 16, 15h20

One of the 72 Facets of Paris, a series born of a piano waltz of the same name: the artist gave each of its seventy-two measures the harmony of a Parisian place at a given hour, then painted each harmony into colour and form through his ideamorphic method. The dance turns on, full and warm, through the afternoon. From the chord FMaj7 it draws the spirit of the grand bourgeois avenue Georges-Mandel at twenty past three: maroon and yellow-green, red and black, a grey disc and lavender — wide stone in the waning light. It holds the square (column 6, row 7) of the mosaic, which fully assembled forms an abstract portrait of Paris.
