Six notes, and the phrase dips into the piano's deepest register — Ab1, near-black, felt more than heard. The valley shape reaches down to Ab1 before returning upward through Bb2, G4, Eb5, G5. Played Animé, mp, legato, in four — walking pulse, the rhythm shifting from waltz to steady tread. The ninth Bb sits low at Bb2, the seventh G commands the middle at G4, and the fifth Eb5 brightens above.

The canvas is dark and weighted. Two Ab notes — Ab1 and Ab2 — pile blue-black at the bottom, the root insisting in the lowest registers. The seventh's red-orange at G4 glows as the largest warm field at mid-canvas. Violet at Bb2 sits just above the black foundation, the ninth close to the root. Blue-violet at Eb5 and a muted red-orange at G5 lighten the top.

A valley into near-silence. The phrase reaches into infrasound before climbing back, the chord's weight concentrated in the bass — the darkest variation in the series.
