Description

Ten tones — the most in this collection — build an E♭ major seventh spread from E♭1 to G7. E♭ and D alternate through the registers, root and major seventh woven together in close harmony; B♭ anchors the fifth in the bass; G appears three times in the upper octaves. Blue-violet dominates the lower half, red-orange and violet color the middle, and the high G tones reach toward silver. Ten notes, but only four pitch classes: the density comes from repetition, not complexity.
Played Animé, mp, in four — an inverted bell that dips into the sub-bass at E♭1 before climbing back through the registers. The normal articulation separates each tone, letting the close voicing between D and E♭ — a half-step — ring clearly rather than blur.
A one-off major seventh study from the Synesthetic Explorations. The major seventh chord is one of harmony's gentlest dissonances — warmth with a luminous edge. This painting fills the canvas with it: blue-violet layered deep, red-orange threaded through the center, the whole composition held in quiet, shimmering tension.
