Provenance

Description

Six notes instead of nine — the chord distilled. G2, F3, Bb3, D5, Bb6, Bb7. Played Lent, mf, legato, in four — the same slow arch as the opening, but louder, with a clear, moderate presence. The root appears only once at G2, the seventh once at F3, while the minor third Bb recurs three times across three distant octaves: Bb3, Bb6, Bb7. The line rises from G2 to the crest at Bb7 before folding back.

The canvas is sparser, the colors more separated. Red-orange sits low and dark at G2. Violet gathers at F3 and Bb3, the seventh and minor third close together in the lower-middle. Then a wide gap — nothing between D5 and Bb6 — before the minor third returns as silver and near-white at the top. The warm orange of D5 sits alone at mid-canvas, the only saturated color in the upper half.

Fewer notes, more space, louder dynamic. The minor seventh chord thinned to its essentials, the painting lighter than its companion — the violet identity of Bb carrying the phrase from darkness into silence at the keyboard's edge.
