Db Minor - Research on Harmony - Variation 6

Ten notes — the most populated phrase in the Db Minor series. The line dips to Db1 in the sub-bass, then returns upward through five octaves to E6, all played Animé, p, with normal articulation — the only variation in the series that does not flow legato. Each note lands with a quiet, distinct presence. A violet accent at Bb2 enters outside the chord, cool against cool. The triad is fully represented: root in four octaves, fifth at Ab4 and Ab5, third at E4, E5, and E6.

The canvas divides between shadow and light in near-equal measure. The sub-bass roots darken the lower edge toward black, while the upper thirds brighten into pale yellow. Blue holds the middle where the fifth sits in two registers. The violet accent at Bb2 reads as a dark smudge low in the painting — barely distinguishable from the surrounding shadow, yet different in hue.

The quietest variation, the most populated, and the only one that breathes between its notes rather than binding them together.
