Description

Eight notes ascending through waltz time — Animé, mp, legato. The phrase climbs from C#2 toward E7, but the ascent carries an unusual passenger: D4, an orange non-chord tone sitting right beside C#4, a chromatic neighbor that briefly warms the otherwise cool line. The root stacks through three octaves — C#2, C#3, C#4, C#5 — building a blue-green column from dark to saturated to bright. The fifth enters once at G#4, blue in the mid-range. Then the third leaps to E6 and E7, yellow paling toward white at the top.

The lower half of the canvas is blue-green in graduated shades, the root repeated and rising. The upper portion shifts to yellow — the minor third appearing late and high, its warmth concentrated in the bright registers. Blue sits in the middle at G#4, a single cool presence between root and third. The orange accent at D4 is small but distinct, a warm intrusion.

This ascending waltz distributes the chord unevenly — root below, third above, fifth in between — the phrase climbing through the key's cool field before releasing the yellow of the third into the high registers where it nears white.
