Description

Six notes ascending from B2 to F#7 — a climb spanning five octaves, the root B repeated through four consecutive registers before the suspended fourth F# takes over at the top. Played Animé, mf, legato, in three — the loudest dynamic in the series, the waltz pushing forward with clear, open presence. The phrase rises without turning back, each note higher than the last.

B gives yellow-green; F# gives green. The canvas is an exercise in value rather than hue — the same cool green-yellow family darkening toward black at B2, lightening through gray at B4 and B5, and dissolving toward silver and near-white as F#6 and F#7 reach the highest register. No strong color anywhere, no warm accents — the painting is nearly monochrome, a fog of gray-green.

The purest suspended chord in the collection — no outside tones, no warm intrusions, just root and fourth climbing through six registers of the same quiet hue, the suspension held open in grayscale.
