Eb minor - Reflexions 2

The earliest work in the Eb Minor set, predating the Research on Harmony cycle. Seven notes climb from Eb2 to Gb6 in waltz time, Animé, mp, legato. The ascending line passes through E3 and A4 — two non-chord tones that inject brief warmth into an otherwise cool phrase. Yellow at A4 and a flash of green at E3 interrupt the blue-violet and violet of the triad.

The canvas opens in dark blue-violet at the bass, the Eb2 compressed toward gray in the low register. As the line rises, green emerges at G3 and Gb6, the minor third's color brightening through the octaves. The non-chord accents — yellow and red-orange — sit like small warm sparks against the prevailing coolness. At the top, Gb6 pales toward white, the green third dissolving into the upper register.

A lively waltz that carries its cool-dark triad upward through five octaves, the warm accents brief but vivid against the blue-violet field. The earliest sketch of what the cycle will explore.
