C+ - Research on Harmony - Variation 1

Seven notes from C2 to E6. The same C augmented triad, the same Lent tempo, mp, legato, in four — but the arch crests lower, at E6 rather than E7, the phrase staying closer to the middle of the keyboard. G#3 appears explicitly this time, the raised fifth given its own place in the lower register. Orange accents at D3 and D5 add warmth outside the chord.

Red compresses toward black in the bass, yellow brightens toward orange in the middle, and blue deepens into blue-violet as the raised fifth sits low. The canvas is warmer than the first étude — the orange accents more prominent, the blue-violet of G#3 pulling the cool end of the spectrum down into the lower registers.

A companion to the opening arch, but with the raised fifth voiced low rather than implied high. The same unsettled chord, heard from a different vantage — closer to the ground, the colors denser, the symmetry felt rather than seen.
