Ab+ - Research on Harmony - Variation 1

The only Animé in the series — forward motion where everything else has been slow and meditative. Seven notes climbing from Ab2 to C6, played Animé, mp, legato, in three. The phrase rises without turning back, a waltz ascending through the augmented triad's three equidistant poles. A green accent at Gb5 is the only tension outside the chord — a cool visitor rather than the warm orange accents that mark the rest of the series.

Blue begins in gray at Ab2 and lightens as the registers rise. Red shifts toward red-orange at C4 and E4, the root's upper octave and the major third sitting close. Yellow warms toward yellow-green at the top, C6 arriving as light yellow-orange at the crest of the phrase.

The series closes with its only ascent and its only fast tempo — Ab augmented climbing toward light in waltz time, the unsettled chord given forward momentum at last, the green accent a final cool gesture in a collection otherwise marked by warm intrusions.
