Ab+ - Research on Harmony

The key shifts to Ab augmented — Ab, C, E — and with it the palette rotates. Six notes descending from C7 to Ab2, played Lent, mp, legato, in three. The phrase opens at C7, silver at the edge of the keyboard, and falls through D4 and E3 before settling at Ab2 in the dark gray of the low register. An orange accent at D4 passes through the middle of the descent.

Blue grounds the canvas at Ab2, gray and muted. Red shifts toward red-orange at E3 and C5. Yellow warms toward yellow-orange at D4, the accent's hue glowing between the chord tones. The waltz rhythm carries the phrase downward with a gentle pulse, each step darker than the last.

Ab augmented as a descent from silver to shadow — the same equidistant symmetry as C augmented, but transposed into a cooler, bluer world where the root is blue rather than red and the phrase resolves into muted darkness.
