Description

The only bell contour — an arch that rises before falling back. Five notes climb from Eb2 through Bb3 and G4 to a crest at A4 and A5, then return. Lent, mp, legato, in four: the slow tempo returns, the dynamic drops, and the phrase breathes as a gentle arc. Both A4 and A5 are yellow-orange accents outside the chord — the non-chord tones outnumbering the chord tones at the top of the phrase. The fifth at Bb3 and the third at G4 provide the triad's only true members in the middle.

The canvas distributes shadow, midtone, and highlight in nearly equal shares — the most balanced painting in the series. Dark blue-violet anchors the base at Eb2, warm red-orange and yellow-orange fill the middle where third and accents overlap, and pale silver opens at the top where A5 lifts into light. The two accents read as warm fields that rival the chord tones in area.

The sparsest variation — five notes, two of them outsiders, the chord barely holding its shape beneath the accents.
