Eb Major - Research on Harmony - Variation 4

Eight notes ascending from Eb1 to G7 — the only purely rising line in the series. Animé, mp, legato, in waltz time, the phrase climbs the full keyboard without looking back. The root opens in near-black at Eb1 and Eb2, the fifth builds in low violet at Bb2 and Bb3, the third arrives at G4 in warm red-orange, and a yellow-orange accent at A5 brightens the upper range. G6 and G7 dissolve into silver at the top.

The canvas reads as a slow gradient from darkness to light. Shadow fills the base where the low roots and fifths sit in near-black and deep violet. The midtones cluster in the middle — blue-violet, red-orange, and muted yellow overlapping where the chord's three members meet. Highlights open at the top, the high thirds bleaching into pale silver. The ascending line produces a painting that darkens only at its foundation.
