Provenance

Description

A small piano étude translated into color. The C Major triad — C, E, G — appears here as red, yellow, and red-orange, the chromesthetic translation of this chord. The voicing spans more than two octaves: C3 anchors the bass alone, E4 and G4 occupy the middle register together, and G5 and E5 reappear at the top — the same pitch classes, higher and lighter. The spread opens across the paper the way it opens across the keyboard, bottom to top.
This painting belongs to my Synesthetic Explorations series, an ongoing practice of translating harmonic relationships into visual form. Each variation is a study — direct, unadorned, focused on the essential character of the chord.
