Provenance

Description

A small acrylic étude on paper translating a D Major9 chord voicing into color and geometric form. The bass register opens with a near-black shape — D1, the root swallowed by depth. Beside it, the major third F#2, too low for green to hold its hue, dissolves into gray: present but unresolved, a joker in the harmony. Rising through the registers, E3 brings a muted olive yellow — the ninth. D4 and A4 carry the warmth of the chord's middle body in orange and golden yellow-orange. Above, A5 and A6 bleach progressively toward cream and wheat as the fifth ascends into light.
The composition is the voicing. What the eye reads as color and weight is the chord distributed across register — from darkness to luminosity, root to overtone.
