Description

Six notes from F#7 to D3 — shallow again, no deep bass. D3, D4, C#5, D5, F#6, F#7. The seventh C#5 returns, its blue-green sitting between the root's D4 and D5, a cool pause at the center of the chord. Played Lent, mp, legato, in three, the phrase descending from silver at the top to dark gray at D3. No fifth A anywhere — the chord missing its yellow-orange tone.

The palette is cooler than most. Without the fifth's yellow-orange warmth, the canvas relies on orange, blue-green, and green — the root, seventh, and third. Green at F#6 and silver at F#7 light the upper half. Blue-green at C#5 adds a cool center. Orange at D4 and D5 warms the middle, and gray at D3 closes the bottom. The painting breathes between warm and cool rather than committing fully to warmth.

The seventh and the absent fifth shift the balance — a cooler, lighter variation, the waltz descending through green and blue-green rather than the unbroken orange of its neighbors.
