Description

Seven notes descending from F#7 to D2. The root D fills four octaves — D2, D3, D4, D5 — the orange insisting more than in any other variation. A4 holds the fifth at a single register. F#6 and F#7 frame the third at the top, green fading to silver. Played Lent, mp, legato, in three. No ninth, no seventh — the chord is pure triad.

Orange overwhelms the canvas. Four consecutive registers of the root produce a graduated field from near-black at D2 through gray and earth at D3 and D4 to bright warm orange at D5. The fifth's yellow-orange sits at one point in the middle. Green and silver cap the painting — a brief cool moment before the orange takes over.

The most root-dominated variation — four D notes claiming the lower two-thirds of the canvas, the orange deepening register by register, the third appearing only as a brief green accent at the very top. The waltz sinking through its own color.
