Description

Eight notes falling from F#7 to D1 — the widest span in the series, silver to black, the phrase descending across seven octaves. The root D stacks in four consecutive registers — D1, D2, D3, D4 — while A4 and A5 carry the fifth, and F#6 and F#7 frame the third at the top. Played Lent, mp, legato, in three. No ninth, no seventh — pure triad across the full keyboard.

The painting is a long gradient. Silver at F#7, green shifting toward blue-green at F#6, yellow-orange at A5 and A4, then four registers of orange darkening toward black — D4, D3, D2, D1. The descent is steady, each step warmer and darker. The upper third of the canvas holds the green and pale tones; the lower two-thirds belong to orange and shadow.

The most complete descent — eight notes tracing the full arc from silver light to near-black bass, the root insisting through four octaves, the orange deepening with each step down.
