Description

Five notes, and the root reaches lower than anywhere else in the series. F#0 opens in the sub-bass — a pitch so deep its green compresses to pure black — then the phrase dips through F#1 before climbing to A3 and F#4 in the middle register. A valley contour in four, Animé, mp, legato. No fifth at all. The chord is reduced to root and third, green against yellow-orange, with three octaves of F# carrying nearly all the weight.

The canvas is built on midtones — a large field of muted green-gray where F#3 and F#4 sit in their cool, saturated hues. The sub-bass notes darken the base, but not as dramatically as the octave might suggest; F#0 is so low it barely registers as area. A3 introduces a small warm accent of yellow-orange in the middle, the only relief from the prevailing green.

The opening study, and the most monochrome — F# Minor defined by its root alone, the third a whisper, the fifth absent entirely.
