Provenance

Description

The third finally claims the canvas. Seven notes dip into F#1 before returning — a valley in four, Animé, mp, legato — and A4 sits at the center of the phrase, its yellow-orange warm and commanding. The root stacks below in four descending shades: F#4 in blue-green, F#3 in dark green-gray, F#2 in near-black, F#1 in black. A6 rises alone at the top, the third dissolved to pale light. No fifth anywhere.

The painting is heavy with shadow and midtone. The four roots darken progressively toward the base, filling a large share of the surface with green-gray gradients. A4's golden warmth dominates the middle register — a single warm field surrounded by cool darkness. The lone A6 at the top provides only a thin band of silver. No blue-green fifth to mediate between root and third.

A chord reduced to its two essential colors — green and gold, stacked vertically, with the gold burning brightest in the middle.
