D Minor - Research on Harmony - Variation 6

The brightest descent in the series. F6 — light yellow — opens the phrase and falls to D2 (near-black). The F (minor third) is rendered at its lightest: in the upper register, its red-violet nature transforms toward warm yellow. Seventy-five percent highlights.

Five notes, waltz, Lent: F6, A5, D5, A4, D2. From light yellow down through yellow-orange and orange to near-black. The descent traces the full brightness range of the chord from top to bottom, the waltz meter giving it a gentle, lilting downward motion.

Only 7% shadows — the deep D2 base is a small dark anchor at the end of an otherwise bright phrase. Where the opening étude was 40% shadows (anchored by D0), Variation 6 is 75% highlights. The same chord, the same descent, but measured entirely in the upper palette.
