Description

The brightest and most complete bell étude in D minor — eight notes, Lent, piano, 80% highlights. D2, D3, F3, D4, A4, D5, A5, F6. Five D's, two A's, one F — the root accumulating through every available register before the phrase opens into F6's light yellow at the crest.

The palette is almost entirely light: 80% highlights, 18% midtones, only 2% shadows. The arch rises from D2 (near-black) through the full register range of the chord, and F6 at the crest is its most luminous point. Legato, the notes flowing continuously upward then back.

Eight notes is the maximum density in this series. The étude states the chord as fully as it ever does: D in five registers, A in two, F once at the top. A complete accounting of D minor across its full range, rendered at maximum brightness.
