Description

Six notes from C1 to E6 — the valley shape, dipping to C1 before returning. Played Modéré, mp, in four — natural articulation, the notes standing apart. C1 and C2 anchor the bass. D4 and D5 carry the ninth through two octaves. G4 holds the fifth at mid-register. E6 lights the top in yellow-orange, the third at its brightest.

The canvas is warm throughout — red darkening toward black in the bass, orange saturating the center at D4 and G4, brightening at D5, yellow-orange at E6. No cool accents, no visitors — every note belongs to the C major ninth. The natural articulation gives each color block a border, the warm tones separated rather than blended.

A moderate valley, unhurried and clean — the chord stated in six notes with natural spacing, each pitch distinct, the warm palette laid out without interruption. The simplest pure statement in the later variations.
