Description

Six notes from C1 to E7 — the same span as the earlier variation, but the articulation shifts. Played Lent, mp, in four — natural articulation rather than legato, each note given its own decay, the phrase more punctuated than flowing. C1, C2, C3: three octaves of root in the bass. D4, D5: two octaves of ninth in the middle. E7: the third alone at the keyboard's extreme.

The root dominates the lower half — three red notes compressing toward black, three registers of the same pitch growing incrementally lighter. Orange at D4 and D5 warms the center. Silver at E7 punctuates the top, the third's yellow bleached to near-white. The separation between notes is more visible here — each color block distinct rather than blending into its neighbor.

The same wide arch as other variations, but with air between the notes. The natural articulation lets each pitch stand apart — a chord assembled from discrete moments rather than a continuous stream.
