Description

The valley returns, rebalanced. Variation 1 traces the same inverted bell as the opening study — dipping into the bass before climbing back — but the span is tighter: E1 to B5, a fifth lower at the top than the opening's G#7. The palette here is entirely the chord's own: no orange accents, no violet tensions, only the three families of E Major — yellow, yellow-green, blue — moving through dark and light.

Animé, mp, legato. The tempo is consistent with the series' character, the dynamic stays conversational, the notes flowing into one another without seam. Shadow, midtone, and highlight weigh almost equally here — a balanced distribution across the registers, neither bright-dominated nor dark-dominated.

Pure and complete within itself. Where the opening étude reached to the far edges of the keyboard and introduced tensions, this variation stays within the chord's own gravity, letting the three tones speak without interruption.
