Ab Major - Research on Harmony - Variation 8

Nine notes played Lent, mp, legato, in four — a bell contour rising from Ab1 to C7, the phrase arching across six octaves. The third appears four times, the root three, and D appears twice as an orange visitor at D4 and D5. No fifth. The chord leans heavily on its warm side, thirds and orange accents outnumbering the blue roots.

The canvas splits into two worlds. Below, blue toward black at Ab1 and Ab2 anchors the bass in darkness. The middle fills with red-orange where D4 and the thirds cluster — warm, glowing, saturated. Above, D5 spreads a broad field of orange, and C6 fades to pale warmth. C7 at the summit is near-white. The cool blue stays buried at the bottom; everything above the midpoint burns warm.

A slow bell with the warmth turned up. The orange visitor and the red third together claim the upper canvas, and the blue root retreats to the bass — Ab Major seen through a warm filter.
