Description

Seven notes played Animé, p, legato, in four — an inverted bell that dips from Ab2 through the middle before rising to C6. The strangest chord in the series: E4 and A5 appear alongside the triad tones, a semitone clash between Eb4 and E4 that pulls the harmony sideways. Three visitors — orange at D4, yellow at E4, yellow-orange at A5 — nearly outnumber the chord tones.

Blue toward black grounds the bass at Ab2. The middle register is a collision: blue-violet at Eb3 and Eb4, then immediately yellow at E4, the two colors pressed a semitone apart. Orange glows at D4, warm and insistent. Higher, yellow-orange at A5 adds another foreign warmth before C6 cools to pale red at the top. The canvas reads restless — warm intrusions crowding the cool chord tones.

The most dissonant variation, the harmony at its least settled. Visitors nearly outnumber residents, and the semitone friction between Eb and E gives the palette an uneasy tension that no other study in the series carries.
