Description

Seven notes ascending in triple time, and three of them are non-chord tones. D3, E3, and E4 — all warm-colored pitches — thread through the middle of the phrase alongside the root and fifth. The étude climbs from F#2 to F#4, a modest two-octave span, but the interior is unusually dense with color that doesn't belong to the F# Major triad.

Animé, p, legato — the softest dynamic in the series so far. The waltz moves quietly, stepping through orange at D3, yellow at E3, then yellow again at E4 before arriving at the green of F#4. The fifth appears once as blue-green at C#3, low and dark. The root bookends the phrase in gray-green tones, compressed toward darkness in this low register.

What distinguishes this variation is its warmth. Orange and yellow accents outnumber the cool chord tones, giving the canvas a quality unlike the rest of the series — as though a warm breeze passed through the cool-green key and left its colors behind.
