Seven notes from B2 to D#6, the waltz moving through a generous span with warm accents adding color to the chord's yellow-green and blue-violet palette.

A4 (yellow-orange) sits between F#3 and D#4 in the sequence — placed just before the phrase enters the upper register, a warm detour before the final ascent. From D#4 onward, the étude rises through D#5 and D#6, the chord's third climbing in pale green toward the peak.

Shadow and midtone share roughly equal weight; highlights are modest. The ascending waltz has a forward character despite the considerable dark-to-midtone balance. Among the ascending études, Variation 3 places its accent in the midrange — not at the bottom or the top but in the middle of the climb.
