B Major - Research on Harmony - Variation 6

Two warm interruptions on the same climb. Variation 6 takes the same B2-to-D#6 span as Variation 5 but with six notes instead of five, and two chromatic accents instead of one: D5 (orange) and G5 (red-orange). The same orange at D5, and then a red-orange added above it as the phrase approaches the peak.

B2 reads as dark gray here — cooler than Variation 5's warm yellow. The étude begins in a slightly cooler bass and moves through the warm chord tones and the two orange-to-red-orange accents before arriving at D#6. Six notes, mp instead of Variation 5's mf.

Animé, mp, legato, triple time. Highlights at 62%. Variation 6 and Variation 5 share a structure but differ in dynamic weight, note count, tonal rendering of the bass, and accent density. Together they form a pair — the same climb, the same peak, two different colorings of the ascent.
