Description

Eight notes played Lent, mp, legato, in triple time — a slow waltz descending from Bb1 to D6, nearly five octaves of Bb Major. The phrase opens at the bottom and falls away from its upper reaches: a descent, the line dropping back toward the bass after touching the high register. A blue-green accent at Db3 is the single tension outside the chord, a cool intrusion low in the phrase.

The canvas is dark and warm. Bb1 and Bb2 anchor the bass in violet compressed toward black — near-absence of color, pure weight. Orange appears at D4 and brightens through D5 to a pale orange at D6, the third climbing from saturated warmth to near-white. Red-violet at Bb4 and Bb5 fills the middle, the root restated in its truest chromesthetic hue.

A waltz built on root and third, the fifth appearing only through the Db3 accent's neighboring tension. Bb Major's warm-dark character is established here: violet darkness below, orange warmth above, the chord leaning heavily on its own skeleton.
