Provenance

Description

A small piano étude translated into color. The Bb major chord in first inversion — D4, F5, Bb5, F5, D7 — spreads across three octaves, and this vertical span becomes spatial distribution across the paper. The bass D anchors the lower left in orange; F and Bb open across the center in red-violet and orchid; the upper D dissolves into near-white at the top.
This painting belongs to my Synesthetic Explorations series, an ongoing practice of translating harmonic relationships into visual form through a systematic mapping of the circle of fifths to the color wheel. Each variation is a study — direct, unadorned, focused on the essential character of the chord.
