Provenance

Description

Purple, orange, and purple-red — the three colors of the Bb Major triad in my chromesthetic mapping — command this large-format canvas with the warmth and vitality I experience in this key.
The painting draws inspiration from rhythm changes, the foundational harmonic progression of jazz. Working these voicings at the piano, I find a particular beauty in the tension between swing energy and the elegance of the cadential movement: Bb Maj, G min, C min, F7, cycling through tension and resolution. The bridge — D7, G7, C7, F7 — traces a chromatic descent through my color system, from orange through red-orange and red into purple-red, a warm narrowing of the spectrum that anticipates the return to Bb.
Bb is purple. D is orange. F is purple-red. Each hue carries the playful yet refined spirit of jazz harmonic cadences, as if the colors themselves move in sync with the music.
