Eight notes, and a blue accent near the top. D2 grounds the bass, then the melody climbs through F#3, D4, A4, D5, F#5, before G#5 arrives — blue, foreign — and A5 closes the arch at the crest. The G#5 sits just below the peak, a brief cool note among the seagreens and yellow-oranges of the upper register.

G# is not in D Major. Its blue appears as a single inflection near the top of the phrase: the étude touching a note outside its own harmony before descending. In four, mp, Lent — unhurried, the arch carrying its tension lightly.

Eight notes with one foreign color: dense but not heavy, the wide range giving the blue accent room to register without dominating.
