Provenance

Description

The densest valley in the series. Eight notes trace the inverted bell: from the upper register down to D1 and D2, back up. D1, D2, F#2 sit at the bottom of the dip — root doubled and third reaching low — before the melody climbs through F#4, A4, D5, G#5, A5. The G#5 is blue, foreign, appearing near the crest of the return.

Soft, Modéré in four. The canvas holds a wide range: near-black in the bass where the three low notes cluster, orange-gray through the middle, then warm yellow-orange at the top with a cool blue accent at G#5. The darkness in the lower zone is heavier here than in most variations — the deep dip registers visually.

Two valley-shaped études in this series; this one the fuller, the deeper, the one with a foreign note at its returning peak.
