Description

A small piano piece inspired by Miles Davis "solar" translated into color. The C minor triad — C2, Eb3, G4, G5, D5 — appears here as red toward black, blue-violet and red-orange, the chromesthetic translation of this chord. From C2 to D5, the étude breathes across the full keyboard. Some accents — orange — appear as 9th.

Played with swing and determination, the notes flowing into one another. Rising from C2 (black) to D5 (orange or yellow/orange ?) at the crest, the line folds back — an arch, a breath held and released. Arnaud wrote it in four, the pulse walks with a steady, even tread.

This painting belongs to my Synesthetic Explorations series, an ongoing practice of translating harmonic relationships into visual form. Each variation is a study — direct, unadorned, focused on the essential character of the chord.
