G Minor - Research on Harmony - Variations 14

A small piano étude translated into color. The G Minor triad — G2, Bb2, G3, Bb3, Bb4, D5, G5, Bb6, Bb7 — appears here as red-orange toward black, violet and orange, the chromesthetic translation of this chord. From G2 to Bb7, the étude breathes across the full keyboard.

Played Animé — with animation and a sense of forward motion, mf — with a clear, moderate presence, legato — the notes flowing into one another. From G2 (black), the line climbs to Bb7 (silver) — the climax, where the phrase hangs suspended. Arnaud wrote it in triple time, the melody moves in a quiet, waltz-like motion.
