Description

The minor third takes flight. Db climbs through four octaves — Db4, Db5, Db6, Db7 — blue-green brightening as it rises, from saturated teal in the middle register to silver, then near-white at the ceiling. F3 carries the fifth's red-violet as the single heaviest presence in the phrase. The root barely exists: Bb1 and Bb2 together account for a trace of near-black at the bottom. Seven notes, Animé, mp, legato, four beats, an inverted-bell contour.

The painting trades foundation for ascent. Dark violet is almost absent; instead, blue-green dominates in a vertical gradient from saturated to pale. Red-violet holds the middle ground as a broad field, the fifth's warmth anchoring the canvas while the thirds climb above it.

A study in the minor third's range: from teal to silver to near-white, Db traverses nearly the full chromesthetic spectrum in a single phrase. The root retreats to a whisper, letting the third define the color.
