Provenance

Description

A small piano étude translated into color. The Bb Minor minor triad — Bb1, Bb2, D3, F3, Db4, F4, B4, Db6 — appears here as violet toward blue-violet, blue-green and red-violet, the chromesthetic translation of this chord. The spread voicing spans from Bb1 to Db6, opening across the paper the way it opens across the keyboard. A touch of orange and yellow-green drifts quietly outside the harmony.
This painting belongs to my Synesthetic Explorations series, an ongoing practice of translating harmonic relationships into visual form. Each variation is a study — direct, unadorned, focused on the essential character of the chord.
