Description

Eight notes, Lent descending waltz: Ab6, C5, Ab4, C4, Ab3, C3, D5 (orange accent), F2. Three pairs of the chord's Ab and C tones descend in alternating steps, with D5 (orange) as a chromatic interjection near the middle of the phrase. The orange accent is warm against the cool blue-Ab and red-C sequence.

The descent moves from Ab6 (light blue-violet) downward through the chord's colors, C's and Ab's stepping down the registers, before D5 introduces warmth then the final F2 (dark red-violet) grounds the phrase. Lent gives the descent space; the waltz meter keeps it lilting.

Thirty-two percent shadows, 45% midtones, 23% highlights. The mid-register weight reflects the even distribution of notes across the range. D5's orange is a single warm interruption in what is otherwise a blue-and-red descent — a touch of the chromatic warmth that will appear more prominently in later études.
