Description

Three percent highlights — the darkest Animé valley in the series. Despite the Animé tempo's forward energy, the palette is almost entirely shadow and midtone. Three F's (F2, F3, F4) form a dense root staircase in the lower-mid registers, with C4 and C5 above, and Ab6 as the valley's high point. None of the notes reach extreme brightness.

The three F's (F2, F3, F4) concentrate red-violet through three consecutive registers, the root color stacked in the mid zone before the chord's blue enters. Ab6 at the top is light by register, but the weight of the phrase — 38% shadows, 59% midtones — keeps the painting dark.

Variation 10 is the Animé étude that forgot its lightness. Energy without brightness: the valley dips and returns, the tempo pushes forward, but the palette remains dense and shadowed. Red-violet accumulates where the light should be.
