Description

The bell peaks on A5 — a chromatic accent, not a chord tone. A5 is yellow-orange, outside the F minor chord, rendering with warm color at the arch's crest rather than Ab's blue. It's the only bell in the series that crests on an accent: the phrase rises to its highest point in warmth rather than the chord's characteristic cool.

F2, C3, C4, C5, F5, A5: three C's climbing through three registers, then F5, then A5 (yellow-orange) at the top. The three C's (red in this range) build warmth through the middle before the arch reaches its yellow-orange apex. Thirty-two percent shadows, 59% midtones.

The anomaly of A5 at the crest gives this Lent bell an unexpected conclusion. The phrase rises through red and blue-violet before arriving at yellow-orange — a warmer landing than the series usually provides, the arch softened by the accent's chromatic warmth.
