Description

Both extremes in one étude: F0 sub-bass and Ab7 near-white. Variation 3 spans the full range from F0 (deepest red-violet, near-silent) to Ab7 (near-silver), a distance of seven octaves. Eight notes, Animé valley, with a yellow accent at E5 — a chromatic tension outside the chord, warm and unexpected against the red-violet and blue palette.

F0, F2, C3, Ab3, F4, E5 (yellow), Ab6, Ab7: the valley dips to F0 before climbing through the chord's colors. E5's yellow punctuates the middle of the ascent — a brief warm note in a largely cool phrase. Fifty-two percent highlights, reflecting the high Ab7 register.

Variation 3 is F minor stated at its most expansive: maximum range, chromatic accent, sub-bass to extreme high. The yellow accent adds warmth that neither F nor Ab naturally provides — a single note of a different temperature in the chord's cool palette.
