Description

Two percent highlights — the darkest étude in the entire series. Variation 15 spans only F2 to F5, the smallest range in F minor, and carries orange (D3) and yellow-orange (A3) accents in the lower-mid register. The valley stays within a narrow, dark window, its Animé energy contained in three octaves of shadow and midtone.

F2, D3 (orange), F3, A3 (yellow-orange), Ab4, F5: two chromatic warm accents close together (D3 and A3), then Ab4's blue, closing at F5. Despite the warmth of the accents, 43% shadows and 55% midtones overwhelm any brightness. The phrase barely touches the light.

Variation 15 is the darkest point in F minor — the chord at its most shadowed, compressed into its narrowest range, the accents warm but unable to lift the palette. After this, the series opens upward into brightness again.
