Ab Octaves - Reflexions 14

Ab octaves with warm visitors. Five notes — D3, Ab3, E5, A5, A6 — only two are Ab, the rest accents: orange at D3, yellow at E5, yellow-orange at A5 and A6. Played Animé, p, legato, in four — the valley dipping to D3 before returning. Softly, with restraint.

Ab gives blue, shifting toward blue-violet, but the accents overwhelm it. Orange at D3 anchors the bass, then Ab3 holds the root's blue at mid-register. Above, yellow and yellow-orange fill the upper half — the accents are warmer and more numerous than the octave tone itself. The canvas is more warm than cool, the blue of Ab appearing only at two points.

An octave study where the outside tones dominate — the blue of Ab a quiet center surrounded by warm color, the valley shape dipping into orange before returning through yellow. The pitch is stated but nearly submerged.
